DBT Whistle is a free Max for Live glide lead for Ableton Live 11 and 12. Fly over the riddim like a theremin.

What we chased

The little theremin instruments I found were often limited: just a few settings and always the same sound. I wanted this kind of device with several types of sources and a few more advanced settings.

The controls

TYPE. Sine, reed, whistle, ocarina or cali: different sources, to vary the pleasures.

GLIDE. The big knob, to make the notes slide.

VIBRATO. Gives that theremin grain that trembles a little.

GRAIN / BREATH. An extra layer of noise.

ATTACK / RELEASE. Shape your envelope, simply.

VOICE / GLASS. Blend in a choir voice, or a glassy edge. Trem and Space add movement and a small room.

OCTAVE / VOLUME. Settings to change the range easily, and of course a volume knob at the end.

What's inside

50 presets. A selection of presets to switch quickly between all the kinds of sounds you can make with this device.

Two looks. Click the screw, top left, to get the more fun wooden theme.
