DBT Tape is a Max for Live tape machine for your buses and your master. Four families of tape, from the clean modern deck to the cassette, each one saturating in its own way.

The controls

DRIVE. From -6 to +12 dB. 0 is neutral, the tape thickens above, +12 is full crunch.

TAPE. MODERN clean and tight, AMERICAN with a big low bump, OLD dark and early, CASSETTE with highs that melt.

SPEED. 7.5, 15 or 30 IPS. Slower means a lower bump, fewer highs, more hiss and wow.

AGE / NOISE. Worn tape: dull highs, the ghost of the next layer, short dropouts. Hiss that breathes with the signal.

WOW / FLUTTER. Slow drift of the reels, fast wobble and scrape on the heads.

ADVANCED. Click the lamp: bias, record and playback levels, HF, head bump, NAB or CCIR, AUTO CAL.

HQ. The tape runs at 4x for cleaner pushed highs. Same colour, same loudness.

50 presets. American, old, modern and cassette machines at three speeds, levels and bias, NAB and CCIR curves, worn tapes, cassettes, destroyed tapes.

Five looks. Your Ableton theme by default, a studio deck, our cassette, a big machine, a vintage recorder.
