DBT Step Filter is a Max for Live dub filter with a big ten step selector. A simple tool: you set it by ear, one step at a time.

The controls

FREQ. The big selector: ten steps and OFF. LOW range 70 Hz to 7.5 kHz, HIGH range 1.5 to 15 kHz.

RESONANCE. From flat to a filter that sings on every step. An output safety keeps it under 0 dBFS.

DRIVE. Coil and transformer saturation. The level is compensated: you hear the colour at the same volume.

TYPE / SLOPE. Low pass or high pass, 18 or 24 dB per octave. Behind the screw, top left.

GLIDE / CLICK. 19 ms to 2 s between steps. Click is the knock of the contact when the selector moves.

MIX / PHASE / OUTPUT. Blend with the dry sound, flip the filter to 180 degrees, Output in dB.
